Privacy policy

The short version

Birdienet is a badminton court directory. You can browse everything without an account. The only personal information we collect is the email address you give us if you join the app waitlist or email us. We don't sell personal information. Ads and affiliate links on the site involve third parties (Google, Amazon) whose cookies we don't control — details below.

What we collect

• Waitlist email. If you join the app waitlist, we store your email address with our email provider (Resend) and use it only to contact you about Birdienet. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to delete it at any time.
• Emails you send us. If you email [email protected] (to claim a listing, correct data, or ask a question), we keep the correspondence.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Railway) keeps standard technical logs (IP address, request path, user agent) for security and debugging. We don't use them to identify you.

We don't run user accounts, and we don't collect payment information.

Advertising & cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. Birdienet itself does not set tracking cookies.

Affiliate links

Some pages (like our gear guides) contain affiliate links — if you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate destinations (such as Amazon) may set their own cookies to attribute the purchase; those are governed by their privacy policies, not ours. Affiliate pages carry a disclosure notice.

Third-party content

Venue photos may be served directly from Google (Google Maps content), and directions links open Google Maps. Following any external link — venue websites, booking platforms, social media — takes you to services with their own privacy practices.

Your choices & rights

Email [email protected] to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you (in practice: your waitlist email and any correspondence). We honor deletion requests regardless of where you live. Depending on your state or country, you may have additional rights under laws like the CCPA or GDPR.

Children

Birdienet is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
